damn hosers

So I am in Canada for now, should be in Mexico next week if I don't get stopped at the border for something. I am flying to Tucson and driving to Mexico from there so as I can bring over an oscilloscope. See I am the only gringo on the job so I am the one who has to smuggle the goods. Back to Canada for the moment though... I am comprising a list of crazy Canadian things. Like the subject title, as most people know, hoser is a common Canadian word, so I wont put it on my list. Here is my current top 10 (1 being my favorite, 10 being my least):

10> The bathroom is now a washroom

9> everything ends with "eh?" or "right?" as if looking for acceptance of what they say

8> kids in the hall is still on TV (awesome)

7> You don't "call" someone you "phone" them

6> Everyone in Canada takes their shoes off when they go inside their house. Yes, I know some neat freaks in the US do the same but, EVERYONE here does it.

5> Color is spelled colour (French influence I think)

4> A toboggan hat, is a toque

3> Check (as in paycheck) is Cheque (French again?)

2> You don't order a whiskey, you order a rye (cause the whiskey here is made from rye, duh)

1> "f*&k all" means "nothing", and everyone uses it... yes even the children
e.g.
John "what are you up to?"
Bruce "F*&k all"
Jill "What is in that bag"
Steve "F*&k all"

The funniest part of this all, is they think I know these things. I got to work this morning and I see a guy Chad, so I says to him "Hey Chad, what's up?"... I get back a "f*&k all".... That is what spurred this list, as we went over all the crazies that Canadians think are normal but as us Americans know are not.

On a lighter note, look at this guy trying to eat a bat...
