the pits of hell

Well this whole mining thing is all coming together. I have been working everyday for 12-15 hours a day, and just this past weekend I was lucky enough to work 30 some odd hours straight. I am in a dirty, dusty, greesy environment, working on a 5 story tall structure that when I am done with my job, if I do it correctly, will move tons of dirt with one scoop.

Well today was the day were we finally ran the shovel. You have seen the picture of me next to the tire, and my profile picture is the bucket of this shovel. You can imagine what is sounds like when you are inside, and it obviously moves all around to move the dirt, and pretty fast for its size, so if you are inside and can't use the ground for reference you get sick very quick... especially if you are majorly hung over. Here are some videos I took of the process. Use your knowledge of the size of the truck as a reference to just how big this shovel is.

Is your new job local to where you live except when traveling??? Did you take this job just for intellectual stimualtion or did you receive financial benefits as well??? Hope you are enjoying it. Sounds like fun!

In response to anonymous (whoever you are), yes the new job is actually closer and there is a lot more intellectual stimulation, oh and financial benefits too.
