BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!
Ok, the subject title is in caps, not becuase i don't know how to work my computer, but because i had one of the best birthday's ever. I would say better than my 21st only because I don't remember much of my 21st, but Patrick, you are still the greatest for getting me that keg... oh and strawberries... nut job.
Let's start from the beginning. It's thursday afternoon around three o'clock, and i have just found out that for the second time my long awaited trip to San Jose is cancelled. This time because my friend i was going to visit is sick. This is no good, since i made no birthday weekend plans becuase I would be gone. Just as I get this news i get a text from my bestest good friend Melissa in San Diego telling me that she will be on The Price is Right on thursday, on my birthday, which just so happens to be my life long dream (to go see the show since i watched it my whole life). She knows this much and is at the time rubbing it in. Well, I give a call up to let her know how disturbed i am feeling knowing that my trip was cancelled and she was about to do something i have thought about doing forever. Of course she doesn't answer, and I am now more upset becuase I cannot vent to anyone. Just then, the clouds in the sky part ( i was at work but outside where i get reception) and I get a call back from Melissa yelling at me with complete exciteiveness telling me i HAVE to fly to San Diego that night and if i do, i can also go on The Price is Right!!! Well, there is no way i am going to be able to leave work, go home and pack, get to the airport, and fly to San Diego in 5 hours. Well folks, I did. Well sorta. I call my friend Nikki who works for delta (sorry i didn't call you blough, but i hit you up for tickets too much), and asked her how possible it was.
After about 30 minutes of deliberation i get a call back saying it is possible to catch the 9:30 flight to san diego!!! I am flying high, everything is flying by so fast though, i am on the phone with Melissa, Nikki, my neighbors (to watch the dog), some guy that want's to buy my jeep, and kellie (to ask her if she can meet the guy to sell my jeep). AND, I am on my motorcycle, so the ride home I couldn't talk to anyone. I get home and I am packing, and all the sudden my dream starts falling apart. For some reason the flight to San Diego is over booked now and I can't get on the flight. See with a buddy pass you fly standby, and a non-rev stand by is behind all the people who paid normal price for their ticket. This is me. Yeah i fly round trip to cali for 170 bucks, but you can get screwed real bad. So we come up with the solution to fly to LA, where I can meet up with my step sister who lives in Long Beach. Whew, things are looking up again, even better cause I get to see my sister on this trip now! I get to the airport, and get on the flight no problem (thank you Nikki, you work magic). So I get to my seat and who would be sitting next to me, but this hot Persian girl. So that made the 4 hour flight go by like nothing. She was real cool, and we had tons in common, so we talked the whole way to LA. (Picture below)... So my sister picks me up and we go to one of her promotions where she has free drink tickets and no cover obviously. Party there for a while, head back to her place and crash.
Me and Sally (the Persian)

5:30 AM, wake up in a rage, thinking I missed the whole thing, or it was all a dream. I realize all is good, and I start getting prepared for The Price is Right. Now, I need to meet Melissa, April, and Amanda at this IHOP along with 16 other people i have never met. See you need to have 20 people to have a definate spot on the show. So between traffic and getting everyone to the studio on time, it was very stressfull. Melissa and the girls get stuck in traffic and I have to now meet up at IHOP with 16 people i don't know from Adam. I went in though, and was super outgoing, made friends with all of them and headed to the studio with them. So we get in the show after about 5 hours of waiting and interviewing and getting excited. As I walk into the studio though, I realized at that point it was all worth it. I was as gitty as a school boy, and I walked in and everything was just as it was when i watched it as a kid. The studio though is about 1/2 the size I thought it was. If you watch the show, it seems like it takes people so long to run down the hall to get to contestants row, where in reality, even at the furthest back seat, you are about 50 feet from the stage. SO here i am with my name tag (which i am so excited to have) and my shirt I made on the plane that reads "It's my birthday, please give me PLINKO". I had all sorts of energy, and the interview seemed to go well. Also, they said one person from our group would be picked. If I got picked, you would already know, and i would have pissed my pants. I didn't, but another guy in my goup did and he screwed up so so bad. If you want to see... watch, or DVR the price is right on June 21st. You can get a glimpse of me twice, we are the group with the blue shirts on (scrubs for most of the poeople). I am in the last row of the blue shirt people. Well that is a life long dream fufiiled, where do I go from here? I'll tell ya.
We drive back to San Diego where Melissa lives and find out that the house she has been staying at will be empty for one more day. Well this house is an 8 million dollar beach house in La Jolla, right off the beach. Here are some pictures.
View from the Kitchen over looking the ocean

Huge hot tub on the patio

View of the house from the famous surf spot "bird rock"

The famous surf spot "bird rock" (at low tide)

Cool shot of underneath bird rock

Also, there are a couple of videos of the house and a quick shot of Melissa who did not want to star on it due to the fact we just woke up on my myspace page. Not sure how to get to them since i just uploaded my first videos but try it out
So we get up, go to Melissa's house and make the decision to take the hot rod to the beach and go surfing. This car is a 1960 somthing Pontiac with a 455 V8. Chopped top, white, skull and crossbones all over it, and 100% bad ass. So here i am in San Diego, cruising in this bad ass car with two hot chicks and a surf board sticking out the back. Life doesn't get much better. Oh, I kept saying that all weekend, and guess what... it kept getting better. I am saying it right now, as I am in a coffee shop in Hillcrest that I skateboarded to while Melissa is doing a few messages. We will next be going jet skiing if we can get it running.
Pretty much her car (forgot to take a picture)

So I surfed for my first time, for real. I went a few times when Ii was younger, but didn't really know what I was doing, and so I don't consider it "real" surfing. Here I am right after my first time, where if you are asking youself "I wonder if he stood up" well yes I did, a few times. Oh, and my ribs hurt and my chest is killing me from the rash, and a few wipe outs but it was all worth it.
Minutes after my first time surfing

So thats about it so far, I don't think it gets any better than this, but if it does I will let you know. I still have a few days left here. Best birthday, and best vacation especially since my current job ends friday and the new one starts monday. Don't forget to set your TIVO to watch The Price is Right on the 21st, and also thank you to everyone who made this trip possible, I owe you all so much.
