underground west coast hip hop

when i lived in phx i met someone who turned me on to some really good music, i like to call west coast underground hip hop. i might be classifying this music wrong, and if anyone has a better way to classify please let me know. this music is nothing like the snoop dog, 2-pac, biggie smalls, gangster hip hop rhyming all about how many guns and bitches they have. yes, sometimes they rhyme about how they are indeed underground, and not sell outs, and they are better than the sell outs, but you take it all with a grain of salt. some people say underground music is underground because they suck, but i will tell you for real it does not, b.

the reason i am bringing this all up is blackalicious just came out with the craft, and i am listening to it right now, and it is great. ever since gorillaz came out with demon days, i have been listening to it, but i have a new album to listen to now. i mean every song is pretty good(except for one named 'rhythm sticks' that reminds me of an old toy that would make drum sounds when you hit them on any surface). well, check it out if you like that kind of music, if you have never heard anything like it, let me know and i can send you some music and you can judge for yourself.
