late night tue night
so i got a call sunday about a ticket to the oasis concert on tuesday. a buddy of mine from college, who i took to an oasis concert with tickets i won in college, had an extra ticket because his wife could not go. he came over at about 4:30 and we headed down to atl to get some dinner. ate at apres diem (spelling?) at made it to the concert at about 9:00 when jet was getting off stage. had a couple of beers and the concert started.
a few funny observations that i made:
lighters were replaced with the glow from the backlight of cellphones of people who think they can record thier favorite song to a friend or on an answering machine. I have tried this at a g-love concert once, did not work.
kids with cameras miss the entire concert. they are too busy trying to look cool for the picture that they can reflect on and say 'dude what a great time' thus missing the whole ambiance of the show and ergo the 'great time'
i'm not big on crowds, concerts, finding parking, dealing with idiots, and fighting traffic to get home. i go because someone else wants to go, and i like to be social, and i do like to people watch, and that is the best place. when the concert is going on, i pay more attention to the light work and the stage than the band themselves. i am amazed how the lights are perfectly choreographied (not a real word) to the band, even when the lead guitarist is messing with his feedback at the end of a song and ends it perfectly with the lights. it makes the experoence worth it for me.
so i am dead tired, got in at 2 and woke up at 6 for work, so i am worth nothing today. not much different from any other day. piece out
