evolution

ok i'm about to start my 4th night shift, and it is not getting any better. however, this moring i got to see my baby, and got some rest throughout the day (definately not enough) so i am feeling much better today. it was a short visit with kate, but worth every mile, plus it makes me miss her more, i was starting to forget about her, jk. so my brains first fuction after getting some rest was the question 'what if we had 6 fingers on each hand, have we not evoloved enough, will someday all people have 6 fingers?' the idea spawned from the fact that the simpsons have only 4 fingers and through seeing every episode at least twice, i have come to the conclusion that the reason for this is they exsited a long time ago when 4 fingers were ok. well then i got to thinking (as i was cleaning out my gutters ready to plumet to my death) why do we need 5? i think we could get away with 3 on each hand and survive quite nicely. maybe the simpsons are more evolved than us, and in movies aliens always have less fingers (aliens are obviously more evolved than us if they can travel 10 light years (the distance from the closest star to our planet) just to rape cows and mess with the inbreeds). so, i am going to try and do some work now and use this brain power for somehting constructive. oh, i am also devising an experiment that might prove to be interesting, i will let you know later. piece
